Municipal Works Australia’s Horsham Field Day brought together council employees, industry specialists and equipment suppliers at Sawyer Park on Wednesday, 17 June 2026.
Delivered in partnership with Horsham Rural City Council and supported by MWA’s Major Corporate Partner, Komatsu, the event provided municipal works professionals with an opportunity to connect with their peers, explore new equipment and learn about practical solutions for local government operations.
The field day attracted employees from Horsham Rural City Council, Southern Grampians Shire Council, West Wimmera Shire Council, Yarriambiack Shire Council, Swan Hill Rural City Council and the City of Darebin. Attendees represented a broad range of roles across civil works, road maintenance, fleet and workshop operations, parks and gardens, asset management, engineering, project delivery, waste management and workplace safety.
More than 20 exhibitors participated in the event, showcasing products and services covering road construction and maintenance, heavy plant and equipment, fleet management, infrastructure, environmental management, training and field-based technology.
Exhibitors included Supersealing, R&S Grating, OnTrak Rentals, Chook Civil, Upatch, Link Resources, M. Tucker & Sons, ESP Australia, Fulton Hogan, Stabilco, MPV Multipurpose Vehicles, Milwaukee Tools, Shepherd Services, Greenway Weed Solutions, SPA, EVM Australia, Pipe Doctor, Brandt, Hiway, William Adams and Agrimac Group.
The informal field day format allowed council teams to speak directly with suppliers, view equipment demonstrations, and discuss solutions tailored to the practical challenges encountered in municipal works and infrastructure maintenance.
MWA CEO Peter Ali said the event demonstrated the value of bringing professional development and industry engagement opportunities directly to regional communities.
“Regional council teams are responsible for maintaining extensive road, drainage, parks, waste and community infrastructure networks. Events such as the Horsham Field Day give these employees the opportunity to see new equipment, exchange ideas and build relationships with other municipal works professionals without having to travel to a major metropolitan centre.”
Municipal Works Australia thanks Horsham Rural City Council for hosting and supporting the event, Komatsu for its continued partnership, and every exhibitor and council employee who contributed to the day’s success.
