Applications are now open for the 2027 Municipal Engineering Foundation Victoria (MEFV) UK and Europe Study Tour, offering Victorian local government public works professionals the opportunity to participate in an international study program.
The award will enable selected applicants to travel as a group through the United Kingdom and Europe for up to three weeks, including attendance at an international engineering conference.
Successful applicants will receive $11,000 towards travel, accommodation, conference registration and incidentals, providing a significant opportunity for municipal works and engineering professionals to broaden their knowledge, investigate emerging issues and bring new ideas back to the local government sector.
MEFV is particularly seeking applications that focus on current and emerging issues affecting local government and public works.
Priority will be given to applicants who demonstrate leadership and innovation in identifying issues worthy of further research, particularly where the outcomes could deliver significant benefits to councils and the wider public works sector.
International study tours such as this give participants an opportunity to examine how other jurisdictions are responding to infrastructure, asset management, service delivery, and broader municipal engineering challenges, while building professional networks with colleagues locally and internationally.
