Having recently moved to their new house in Tura Beach, NSW, Ray Leak (pictured here with his wife, Sandy), formerly of the Colac Otway Shire and an MWA Life Member, has decided to retire from his position as a Board Director as of April 2025, as he has expressed in his own words. “I feel it’s time we inserted young blood into the boardroom”.

Ray served in an executive position at the MWA for over 35 years, making him one of the most significant figures in the association’s history.  More recently, Ray and Sandy have been assisting the association in a volunteer capacity, travelling around the country to visit council works depots and meeting with works managers to inform them about developments in the municipal works area.  Their efforts have made a significant contribution to the association’s growth.

If time permits, the MWA Board hopes that Ray and Sandy will continue to undertake this role.
